From Guatemala city, Magma gets alive in 2006, founded by Elio Velas (drums), Jairo Andrade (bass), Jaime Rodas (vox) , start a path that will lead them to be one of the first GROOVE METAL BANDS in spanish in Guatemala; finally Oswaldo joins the band as lead guitarist at the end of 2007, giving strength and more musical attitude to the band , and what was fun at firs time, became a more serious project.
Magma is seeking for a clear and powerful sound or what they call it an ASS KICKING SOUND, their lyrics express a total disagreement towards the current national situation like street violence, extortions, murders, police brutality, and the Government Corruption as shown in their song PUEBLO SIN LEY.
Doing gigs around the City circuit bars along with many local bands, and making performances in big festivals like EL MOSH FEST 2008 and 2009, LA GARRA CHAPINA X EDITION 2008 and STREET CONCERT III 2009, always receiving an euphorical answer from the Guatemala Metal Head audience.
We can define Magma´s sound as a Hard and Consistent Aggressive sound, this guys has shown their explosive rage when they get into stage, and making good songs with a solid drums, creative and strong main riffs, and a remarked bass line, all this elements melts with an anger ferocious vocals, to develop a volcanic strength and power that characterize this Guatemalan Metal band.

Ubicados en la ciudad de Guatemala, Magma cobra vida a finales del 2006, integrada inicialmente por Elio Velas (batería), Jairo Andrade (bajo) y Jaime Rodas (vox), inician el camino que los llevaría a ser una de las primeras bandas de GROOVE METAL EN ESPAÑOL; en Dic. 2008 Oswaldo (guitarra) se integra como guitarrista líder y se refuerza la banda tomando un carácter más serio.
Magma busca un sonido fuerte y claro a la escribir sus canciones, cuyas letras expresan total desacuerdo e inconformidad hacia la situación nacional actual, como lo es la violencia callejera, extorsiones, asesinatos, brutalidad policial, y corrupción gubernamental, como nos muestra su primer tema llamado ?Pueblo Sin Ley?.
La banda ha realizado varias presentaciones alrededor del circuito urbano de bares y conciertos, alternando con bandas locales de todos los géneros del Rock y Metal Guatemalteco, lo que les ha abierto puertas para participar en festivales grandes como lo son ?EL MOSHFEST 2008 Y 2009? ?STREET CONCERT ? III 2009? y ?LA GARRA CHAPINA X EDICION 2008? , en los cuales siempre han recibido una eufórica respuesta por parte del público metalero.
Podemos definir el sonido de estos cuatro músicos como: Directo, consistente y potente, ya que la poderosa energía que manejan, se despliega cada vez mas suben a un escenario, solida batería, guitarras fuertes y creativas, un bajo macizo se unen con los gritos furiosos y claros, para dar a conocer la fuerza Volcánica del Metal hecho en Guatemala.
